First round starts at 12 (noon) at San Diego Chess Club. 3 rounds, G/30d5 (USCF rated both as Regular and Quick). Sections: participants will be grouped in sections of 4 - 6 players of similar rating. Entry fee: $20. Pairings will be posted a day before/morning of the tournament. Live updates are available. Prizes: top winner of each quad gets an Amazon giftcard ($50). Maximum number of participants: 50

Location: San Diego Chess Club (2225 6th Avenue, San Diego)

Schedule:

• First round starts at 12:00 pm, please arrive 15 minutes earlier by 11:45.

• Tournament is expected to be done by 4 pm, lower sections might finish earlier

• Awards ceremony right after all games are done

Sections:

• OPEN (recommeded for ratings over 800)

• U800 (recommended for experienced scholastic players)

• U500 and U300 (recommended for beginner scholastic players)

• Last day to change section is a day before the event

• We reserve the right to change sections and move some participants if sections are uneven

Format: 4 rounds, USCF rated as Regular / Quick

Byes:

• 1 bye is allowed (you can skip one round and get a half point)

• Last round bye is not allowed

• If you are skipping the first round, please email a day before

• If you are skipping 2nd or 3rd round, please make sure to let us know during the previous round.

Time Control:

• OPEN section: G/30d5

• U800/U500/U300 sections: G30

  • For families with more than 2 kids, the 3rd/4th get in at 50% discount

  • If you need us to renew your USCF, please add $20

Prizes: Top 5 players of each section will be awarded medals and Amazon gift cards. The amount will depend on number of registrations and will be announced a day before the tournament.

Live Updates: all info (players, pairings, standings, tiebreaks, byes) will be available via CaissaChess live. You can view updates online or sign up for emails/text alerts.

Pairings: There will be no check-in process. Tentative Pairings will be posted few days before the tournament and will update with new registrations and cancellations (via CaissaChess live). If the oppopnent doesn't show up, we will pair with any available player from the same section or give 1 full point.

Registration: Registration will be open until 120 spots are filled or 9 AM the day of the tournament.

Regulations:

• The pairings will be posted before the event, all no-shows will get forfeits and will be withdrawn from the tournament

• No credit will be given to no-shows (if you don't notify us you need to cancel)

• If you need to cancel, please email as soon as you know

• If you are running late, please email so that we know you are coming
